Julia created really good lesson plans focusing on practical things to know that I am actually able to use. The way she introduced new vocabulary and phrases really helped me pick it up much more quickly than I had managed previously. I had been trying to learn Spanish with Duolingo for a few months. It helped me build some vocabulary, but I wasn't speaking at all. Then I discovered a Spanish group in Loughborough that meets every Tuesday. The idea behind the lessons was exactly what I needed: speaking in a relaxed, modern environment. And the teacher, Julia, is a native Spanish speaker! I decided to give it a try. Now that I've attended the group several times, I can say that I am still far from speaking Spanish fluently :) But the lessons have definitely helped me break through the language barrier. The people in the group are lovely — we could easily meet and chat about everything in English :) — but Julia gently and professionally guides our conversations in Spanish. Julia is an amazing person: kind, funny, and full of energy and life. It is a real pleasure to learn with her. She is an excellent teacher who always knows how to help you improve your speaking skills. I especially like that she teaches modern, everyday Spanish, not just phrases from textbooks. The time in the group flies by, and I always look forward to the next lesson!

Julia being a native speaker really helps to make the sessions so much more relevant and practical rather than a formulaic approach. I appreciate learning a new language can sometimes be daunting and difficult to maintain motivation but I have been learning with Julia now for 2 years and enjoy it just as much now as I did when I started.

What I love best is that she teaches me local saying and customs to make me appear more spanish. Julia brings so much more than duolingo and after one year I am holding multiple conversations in spanish and sometimes even understand what people are saying!

Always so fun to connect and learn with different people and have different techniques with our lessons! When I first begin Spanish I knew little to some phrases but the more I came to the Spanish lessons I've learnt so much more technics over the time and that practice becomes more and more normalise to learn or to speak and talk in Spanish more regularly than normal, you bond with different people and learn everyday with new experiences and stuff they also struggle and that we learn together and communicate with each other as a whole, I enjoy going to this class everyday and love to learn more stuff in the future.
